Nevada Public Health Association Presents

Joseph Grzymski, PhD Chief Scientific Officer, Renown Health

Joe Grzymski is the Senior Director of the Applied Innovation Center (AIC), co-Director of the Renown Institute for Health Innovation and an Associate Research Professor of microbiology and computational biology at the Desert Research Institute (DRI) in Reno, Nevada.

“How do we talk to people about how they can continue to be well, as opposed to how do they treat themselves when they become ill?” asks Joe Grzymski, principal investigator for the Healthy Nevada Project. The project is one of the first community-based population health studies in the U.S. It aims to analyze the DNA of thousands of Northern Nevadans for the kinds of ailments to which we may individually be genetically predisposed. The results could change the face of medicine, with providers offering a targeted approach to personal healthcare and treatment while improving the health and well-being of people in our communities in the process.

Light refreshment will be provided including a genetic testing on site at the meeting for anyone interested enrolling into the research project.

Genetic testing on site starting at 5 pm. If you would like to participate, please do not eat or drink for 30 minutes prior to testing.
